Justice Natasha, Oxford County; second, Jackie Burgess, Maple Ridge Shyster Megan, Bruce County; third, Shea O'Neill, Donnaview Spirte Cruella, Grey County. There were 17 calves in the class. Grand champion calf went to Tanner Jones, reserve calf, Christopher Franken and honourable mention to Michael Lupton. The seventh annual , Cover -All 4-H Dairy Invitational Show was held on the Monday, Aug, 3 with a large num- ber of both 4-H exhibitors and visitors seeing the arena change from its nor- mal condition into a show ring for young dairy cattle of all breeds. The number of 4-H exhibitors was up by 30 over 2008 with 153 participants coming from nine different counties in Ontario vie for top prizes in each class.. The show committee recognizes all of the volunteer help and the local sup- port it takes to make this show a suc- cess. The results from the show are listed below. Novice showperson: first, Laura DeKlein, Middlesex .County; second, Racheal Weber, Perth County; third, Hayden Burgess, Wellington County. There were 24 competitors in the class. Junior showperson: first, Travis The search is on for the Queen of the Furrow contest Canning, Wellington County; second, Redesign Ginger, Huron County. There Greg Burgess, Bruce County, third, were 17 calves in the class. Billie Diemert, Grey County. There Intermediate heifer: first, Emily Van were 59 competitors in the class. Osch, Dutchdale Lyman Tessy, Huron Intermediate showperson: first, County; second, Jill McCallum, Alicia Hill, Middlesex County; second, Shylane Gibson Portia, Perth County; Michael Lupton, Oxford County; third, third, Linsay Keiffer, Belmoral Leanne Hopkins, Grey County. There Goldwyn Sherry, Bruce County. There were 43 competitors in the class. were 52 calves in the class. Senior showperson: first, Andrew Senior heifer: first, Christopher Grubb, Bruce County; second, Racheal Franken, Lorivale BC *Claudia, Huron Roefs, Oxford County; third, Jessica County; second, Jenna Elliott, Charlyn Lutes, Dufferin County. There were 27 Justice Beauty, Lambton County; competitors in this class. Alisha Burgess, Golden Justice Grand showperson was Alicia Hill, Leonards, Bruce County, There were. reserve showperson, Andrew Grubb 41 calves in the class. and honourable mention to Racheal Summer yearling: first, Michael Roefs. Lupton, Walnutlawn Jasper Halle, Junior heifer: first, Brady Anderson, Oxford County; second, Jeremy Chakelburg Jasper Mermaid, Bruce Kresky, Murlonee Jasper Avis, Huron County; second, Amy Elliott, Mixm County; third, Melissa Spading, Jasper Moos Synergy Ava, Lambton County; Sultan Delicious, Huron County. There third, Allana Beuermann, Royalair were 24 calves in the class, The search is on for young women to participate in the Bruce County Queen of the Furrow Competition. The Bruce County Plowmen's Association will be holding their annual, plowing match . Friday, Sept. 4 near Chepstow on the farm of Pat Murray. The match includes the traditional horse, antique and mod- ern tractor plow- ing as well as a barbecue at noon featuring Bruce County beef. The Queen of the Furrow Competition includes an inter- view, a speech and plowing with assistance by association mem- bers who also pro- vide a tractor and a plow for the competition. The winner of the competition will represent Bruce County at numer- ous events throughout the year including the 2010 International Plowing Match in Elgin County. As the current Queen of the Furrow Amber Mackie is proud to say, "I have had an amazing year as Queen . of the Furrow for Bruce County. I have had the pleasure to attend many events and meet new people. I have really learned a lot, and had so much fun! I would encourage eligible_ young ladies to take this opportunity con- nect with agricul- ture, and the com- munities in Bruce County."
