Assessment Agency that it is withdraw- ing its site licence applications and stispending its envi- ronmental assess- ments for both the Bruce County site and the Nanticoke site on Lake Erie. "It is driven by the economic down- turn. The demand for electricity has dropped precipi- tously and, as a result of that, the activities around adding new nuclear build to the electric- ity grid at this stage is not a good prospect," said Murray Elston, vice-president of corporate affairs for Bruce Power.
