The 39th Annual
Lucknow Craft Festival
put on by the Lucknow
Agricultural Society has
been cancelled this year
and will not be happening
this weekend as previous
ly scheduled. The reason
for the cancellation is a
lack of vendors.
"We didn't have
enough vendors to do the
show and we
always try to
put on a
good
show

"We didn't

The. event only gar-
iiered 19. vendors and
Finnigan 'wanted to see
30 or more vendors for
the festival to continue..
With only 19 vendors to
work with, Finnigan said
it would have been
impossible to fill the.
Lucknow and District
Sports Complex, which is

where the event usually
takes place.
The future of the craft
festival will be decided
by the Agricultural
Society at their annual
November " meeting.
Finnigan would like to
see the event continue,
but even he knows that
the pros and cons will
have to be weighed, to
see if it will be viable for
the future.
"1 know from a few
crafters that were
going to attend,
that other
shows like
Kincardine
were can-
celled as •

said
Finnjgan.
"That: just
makes . it
that much
harder for
our event to
stay afloat."
Finnigan knows,
there will be a lot of hard
work ahead of him and
also knows the communi-
ty has always been. there
for the event over the
years and hopes there are
'more vendors next year,
but before that happens,
the fate of craft festival
will be decided in
November.
