The senior men played a regu-
lar game from the golds at
Blackhorse July 2. It was cool to
start, but warmed up quickly.
Too bad it couldn't be said about
one foursome who were very
cold on the long par five - eighth
hole. Combined, they managed 3
x 8's and a nine. Imagine 13 over
par on one hole. They had. to
improve after that, one would
think.
Richard ;Papineau had another
"career" game and won hand-
somely with a net score of 69.
His closest rivals had a three-
way tie forsecond with a net of
71 'John Haley, John Wood and
Dave O'Donnell.
Closest -to -the -hole on number
two was Tom Pegg. Good thing
it wasn't hole number eight.
Frank Stretton joined play ' for
.the first time and was closest -to -
the -hole on number N. Go
Frankie.
A mistake was made on a pre-
vious round when : it was
announced, and awarded, that a
certain foursome won the round.
Well it turns out on further
investigation that Bruce Heimpel
was mistakenly added to that
winning foursome. The normally
accurate, Richard Papineau, had
originally written down Bill
Brace, but was told by someone
that it was Bruce not Bill on that
foursome. This could not be con-
firmed because the silly scorer
only had a "B" for the name on
the card. When asked who would
have volunteered . the incorrect
name,. Bruce's immediate reply
was "well I •didn't know what I
had done to win this but thanks."
Amends were immediately made
and Bill Brace can now have his
name in the paper.

centre introduced
the members to the
exercise possibili-
ties the facilities
have to offer. Half
of the group tried
out the fitness
equipment while
the other half par-
ticipated
ar-
ticipate d in . a fit-
ness class that
Crystal led. The
members found
some of the exer-
cises difficult,
such as the plank,
but others, suchas
those on the ball,
were fun and chal-
lenging.
After theirwork
out, President
Melissa Higgins
led the roll call,
which asked how
often members
read nutrition
labels, which was
something that
they had. learned
about ` at the previ-
ous meeting.
Most members
said that they did
glance at labels at
least occasionally.
Leader Marita
Oudshoorn divid-
ed the members
into . groups in
which they did
skits about the dif-
ferent types of
exercise like flexi-
bility, strength and
endurance, as well
as the meat and
alternatives food
group. The skits
were very enter-
taining and educa-
tional as usual.
The members
then took turns
judging physical.
activity routines,
while the rest of
the group had a
snack.
deciding who ,starts on what .
hole. There's a different game
every week. And don't worry,
we'll help you remember the dif-
ferent games.
First place was taken " by Al
Bowers, not only with a low net
of 57, but also with a 'low gross
of 72. Nice round Al. Miro Tadla
finished second with a low net of
62 and a career gross of 77. John
Haley had a lownet of 65 and
• was in the winner's circle for the
second week in a row. Tied for
fourth with a net of 69 • was
Wayne Farrell, Dave Anderson,
Art i elfin and Tom Kennedy. Did
