STOTHERS
Dr. Stephen C. Stothers, son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. S.B. Stothers, formerly of Lucknow, died
suddenly .at his home in Winnipeg on
Wednesday, April 29, 2009 in his 80th year. He
leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Marilyn;
daughters, Joanne (David) Branton and Susan
(Bob) Fedorchuk; sons, Scott (Barb) Stothers
and Steven (Monica) Stothers; and nine grand-
children. Steve was bornin Essex in 1929 and
had four sisters; Agnes, Elizabeth, Kay and
Ruth. He was predeceased by his parents and
sisters Kay Whale and Agnes Bradbury. Steve
taught for 39 years - at the University of
Manitoba in Winnipeg, beginning as Associate
Professor and retiring as a Senior Scholar in
1994. He sang in The Bison Male Chorus for
'25 years and took part in many local organiza-
tions. Donations would be greatly appreciated
to the University Of Manitoba's S.C. Stothers
Award in Animal Science for a 4th year student
with the highest grades in the Capstone course
dealing with issues in animal agriculture, This
award began at Steve's request when he
retired from the University of Manitoba. Service
of remembrance was held at Trinity United
Church, Winnipeg, on Wednesday, May 6 fol-
lowed by private interment in St. Vital
Cemetery. Steve was a first cousin of Jean
Carruthers, Pinecrest Manor, Lucknow, and of
Mary Bere, Goderich. - 20cc

MACDONALD
WVinnie (Swan) MacDonald, beloved wife of
Stewart MacDonald, died Friday, May 8, 2009,
at Pinecrest Manor, Lucknow in , her 88th year.
Winnie and Stewart had been married for 63
years. She will be sadly missed by her children
Murray of London, and wife Eva of
Belmont, Bill and wife Sharon of London and
daughter-in-law Bonnie Stainton of London.
Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren
Rob, Ryan, lRllendie, Tammy, Brad, and ,
Jennifer, and by her eight great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sisters Belle Mole
and Rita Merkley both of Ltnow, and by her
sisters-in-law Jean Coiling, Donalda
MacDonald, Isobel Brook, Sheila MacDonald,
and Audrey MacDonald. Predeceased by her
parents Sam and Clara Swan and her sister
Doris Nicholson. The visitation was held at
Mackenzie and McCreath Funeral Homes,
Ripley on Monday, May 11. The funeral service
was on Tuesday, May .12, from the chapel.
Rev. Diane Dier officiated.: Interment in Ripley
Cemetery. Donations to St. Andrew's United
Church would be appreciated as expressions

our uncle and great-uncle, and dear friend of
Willy Wiggins, Jim Thompson. Thanks to the
