Lucknow Sentinel, Wednesday, May 13, 2009 - Page 11
The Lucknow and District
Kinette club is preparing for a
number of community events
in the near future. A barbecue
will be held this month on
Saturday, May 16 at
Knechtel's Foodland.
In June, food booths will be
run at the Dungannon Tractor
Pull and at all of the Kinsmen
events during Strawberry
Summerfest. The Music in the
Fields concert provides
another venue for a food
booth in August. Project
money will be used for com-
munity service.
September will bring an
opportunity to organize some-
thing other than a food booth,
as the. Kinettes are helping the
Agricultural Society with the
Lucknow Fall Fair Parade.
The theme for the parade is
"Dairy: More than Milk". The
committee would really like
to have a terrific parade. The
Kinette club is offering this
service because the members
feel strongly that more sup-
port is needed for our rural
community and that
Agricultural fairs are an inte-
gral part of our town life.
Participation is key to success
and now is a good time to
think ahead. Fall Fair books
with the parade categories
will be available soon.
The Kinettes appreciate the
public's support for all of the
past projects and look forward
to continued participation in
the future. New members are
always welcome.
Taking part in a service club
is a great way to meet people
and to enhance the communi-
ty.
The Kinette club continues
to work to "Serve the
Community's Greatest Need."
