Sparks are seen here at their annual
sleepover held in the Lucknow Town
Hall on Thursday evening. This year,
they worked on the Nunavut
Challenge. The Sparks slept in
"igloos", played games and made
crafts originating in the territory.
They also ate Nunavut food and
learned some common phrases in
Inuktitut language.

The Senior A
Lucknow L cers
played . a v ' ant
game Friday night
in . Ilderton against
the Lucan-llderton
Jets as it was a do-
or-die game five in
the A champi-
onship series, The
Lancers made a
late comeback _ in
the third period,
but they ended up
losing the gamb 6-
5.
The Lancers
went down in the
dame with a quick
goal scored by the
Jets to give them a •
one goal lead. The
Lancers did answer
back with a goal of
theirown a few
1
minutes later, but
that didn't stop the
Jets . from scoring
another two unan-
swered goals in the
first period to jump
out to a 3.1 lead
going into the sec-
ond period.
The Lancers
tried to.: clip into
the Jets' lead by
making the game
3-2 at they start of
the second, but
Lucan just kept
coming and. by the
tune the second
period was over the
Jets had, a big lead
of 6-2.
The third ;;period,
however was all
Lucknow. as they
,poured on the
offence. t . scoring
three- unanswered
goals of their own
making the score
6.5.
It was too little
too late Stor the
Lancers- as they
couldn't squeeze
the equalizer by the
Lucan goalie.
Scoring ` for. the
Lancers were
James Mann 2,
Brad Burton, Brian
Stanley and Rick
Andrew. Assists
came from Mark
Stanley 2, Dan
Drennan, Brian
Stanley 2, Adam
MacDonald, Ryan
Murky and Kyle
*Quinn.
The Lancers lost
the A champi-
onship, but they
gave it their all and
didn't give up until
the last seconds of
the game.
The Lancers had
a great season with
a lot of ups and
downs, but they
pulled it together
for the playoffs and
gave their fans a
great second sea
son. They will, be
back next year to
give their fans the
same excitement
they doled out this
season.
