Cameron is a Mitchell native, who'd recently returned to the area to care for a'parent. County Warden Ken Oke says Cameron is ae1- come addition to. the county, and that recruiting a new medical offi- cer of health is a feat worthy of praise for • the recruitment com- mittee. Oke =ti thanked the coun- ty's human - resources manager Darcy Michaud and committee chairman Bernie MacLellan (Huron East) for their "hard work." "We're quite for- tunate," says Oke, noting a lot of regions have gone years without a medical officer of health in place. Council also approved a motion to move towards a single leadership model with the health unit, which means the Medical Officer of Health is o Chief Executive Officer of the health unit. The former direc- tor's position is beim changed to a business manager's position, which is a spot, that has yet to be filled.
