March is Fraud Prevention month
As part of Fraud Prevention Month, the
OPP Anti -Rackets Branch is stressing to
everyone the importance of protecting all of
• their identity documents, and in particular
their Ontario Health Card.
The Ontario Health Card contains' impor-
tant information about the card holder, and
should only be used when the cardholder is
accessing a medical service at a clinic, hos-
pital or doctors office.
Fraudsters will frequently use the tele-
phone to access private information for the
purpose of committing fraud related crines.
You should never give out personal informa-
tion to others over the phone or internet,
unless you trust the source. You should also
never give out your health card number over
the phone.
Criminals have been known to steal health
cards to access medical services for which
they are not entitled
If you believe that someone has accessed
your personal information for the purpose of
identity theft, contact your local police or the
Canadian Anti -Fraud Call Centre at 1-888-
495-8501.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT:
The amendments apply to all of the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh. The
purpose of .the proposed Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By -Law amendment's to
change the Minimum Distance Separation (MOS) requirements for existing lots of record
and existing natural environment tots from a Type 6 land use to a Type A land use. The
effect of this change will be to reduce the MDS from existing barns for new dwellings on
existing lots of record and existing natural environment lots. Since the passing of the S
Official Plan in 2003provincial chanes to the MDS formulae have increased the MDS
i 9 amendment and zoningby-law amendment re-
requrements. The proposed official plan Y
re-
turns the minimum distance separation requirements to approximately the same distance
as was required at the time the Official Plan was passed and is consistent with the pno-
vincial guidelines. The proposed amendments are to the Township of Ashfreld-Colborne-
