heard from the Port Albert 175th Birthday
Celebration planning , committee again,
and agreed to circulate an informative
insert in an upcoming tax mailer sent out
by council.,
The insert will inform the public of the
upcoming celebration, to be held in 2011,
and announceta history book that is being
written :to continue on from a previous
one released in 1986.
The committee will be asking for resi-
dents of . the township to submit family
histories, photos, stories and memorabilia
to help with the expansion of the current
history.

General Store to remain opei during Cer-
tain holidays:
The store, which has s become an LCB0
Agency store, according to Lal Chouhan,.
could be opened on Family Day, Victoria
Day,Canada Day, the August. Civic
�'. Thanksgiving Day
'Holiday, :Labour Day, gi g
and Boxing Day.
While not ail L CBO locations are open
on this day, Agency Stores are permitted

provided they obtain consent from their'
local municipal authority.
Council agreed 'to let the store be open
for these holidays, and the store will run
their regular hours of Monday to
Saturday, 7 a.m. to '10 p.m., and Sunday
11 a.m.to6p.m.
MCVA funds
Ashf e1d-Colborne-Wawanosh Coe
received correspondence z from- the
Maitland Valley Conservation Authority
(MCVA) requesting funds for the 2009
operating year.
Co uncll reviewed the documentation
and decided to give the MCVA a 2 per
cent increase from .last year's contribution-
instead
ontribution -
i stead of the budget that t ke MCVA out -
ed.
The ivICVA uses the money from
municipalities Palities to assist in environmental
projects, as well as in helping municipal-
ities with flood planning and response,
development policies and developing
education programs for local schools.
