The first period
started off slow
with both teams
trying to size each
other up. It made
for some tentative
hockey, but that all
changed when the
Lancers capitalized
on the power play
midway through
the first period.
The goal settled
the Lancers down
and it let them play
their game of break
out passing to try
and get . odd man
rushes to the net.
The Thundercats
were ons their heels

at that point, even
though they had
tied the game with
a short handed goal
to start off the sec-
ond. After their
goal they bad. some
penalty trouble that
put them on the
defensive for a
majority of ` the
game.
The Lancers kept
the momentum
going in the second
period and padded
their lead to 2-1
with a goal right
near the middle of
the period.
This is when
their power play
kicked into high

the third as the
Lancers had more
left in the tank than
Durham did and
put insult to injury

their own to put the
game out of reach.

International Plowing Match Tented City co-chair Bill Borho pre-
sented Formosa Lions president Grace Schill with a cheque for
$4,850 at the Lions meeting on jam 14. After the 2008 IPM bilis
were paid $826,997.00 15 left to be spent in Bruce .County.
Formosa Lions were IPM supporters from the geti go. Several
Lions were Committee chairs, one was on the executive, and the
cite ` itself prepared, donated, and served a luncheon for the
op11ng of the IPM headquarters in Teeswater. $500,000 of the
prbeseds has been set aside for health care.
