*Bruce Power is
bucking the trend
and predicting job
growth this year.
The company
expects to add 250
employees on top
of the more than
200 hired in 2008,
spokesperson Ross
Lamont told Bruce
County in a
monthly report to
council:
"A lot of people
(are) retiring,
many of which we
need to 'replace,
and we need to
staff up so that
when the units at
Bruce A are
restarted that we
have the staff for
it," Lamont told
councillors.
"This is great
it's bringing many.
young families to
the area: or allow-
ing families to stay
in the area."
Bruce Power -
gets thousands of
applications fQr
the new jobs,
Lamont said. Most
positions require
some post second-
ary education and
all the applications
are screened by an
outside company
to ensure fair hir-
ing.
