Through the action of London police
three American tourists were° halted
here by constable. Bassett last week
for running into a Laindon man's cam
at llderton on Wednesday of last week,

for the accident and paid over $40
for repairs.
Mrs. jas, Stewart of Windsor, for-
merly of Exeter,- who has• been in
very poor health for upwards of a
year on'Wednesday last underwent on
opera tion for appendicitis' in that
city, While performing the operation
the surgeon discovered other internal
trouble which threatens to delay her
recovery for some time. Her silt er-
in-law, Mrs. Curtis Harness has been
with her for some tittle time.
Mfr. P. E. Flurschutz, formerly bag=
gagemau for 28 years on the London,
Huron and Bruce. branch of the Can-
adian National Railways, was presented
with a case of four pipes and a to-
bacco pouch, and Mrs. Flurschutz was
presented with a vase, from the mem-
bers of the train crew and the agents
and employees along the Huron and
Bruce line. He went on, pension aa•the
31st of August after 50 years service.

FINE PLAY REPEATED.
The play, "Green. Stockings," given
by the A,Y,P,A. of Trivitt Memorial
Church , under the direction, of Mrs. N.
J, Dore, on Fair night, in the Opera
House, attracted a large crowd, and
was well given. The same play was
put on, in June by the young people,,
and as on, the first occasion it was
t horoughly enjoyed by the audience. ,
