The proposed new Comprehensive Zoning By -Law for the Municipality of Central Huron consists of text and maps that apply to all the
lands in the Municipality. It would repeal and replace the current Zoning By -Laws for the 2 wards in the Municipality of Central Huron.
The Comprehensive Zoning By -Law implements the Official Plan which was adopted on November 23, 2003 by the Municipality of
Central Huron.
The Comprehensive Zoning By -Law consists of Definitions, General Provisions and Zone sections that list the Permitted Uses,
Accessory Uses, Permitted Structures and Zone Regulations for that zone.
• Some new zones have been created such as: (AG2) Restricted Agriculture for the retained farmlands of Surplus Fa'rm Dwelling
severances; (LR1) Lakeshore Residential which recognizes year round residential uses on the lakeshore.
• Four Natural Environment zones are proposed: NE1 (Natural Environment Full Protection) for provincially significant wetlands; NE2
(Natural Environment Limited Development) for significant natural environment features; NE3 (Natural Environment Small Holdings) for
developed properties in rural areas; NE4 (Natural Environment Recreational Residential) for developed properties on the lakeshore in
areas designated Natural Environment. Adjacent lands and Conservation Authority Regulated Lands are being identified around
existing Natural Environment areas. These lands will be subject to review of development proposals by the Conservation Authority.
• All properties are subject to the new zones requirements.

Seaforth man
says wind
turbines forced
him off his farm
From Page 10
Sharon believes her bouts of insom-
nia and irritability were linked to the
presence of the wind turbines.
The couple also says the horses
they owned at the time started act-
ing strangely after the wind turbines
were built.
They wouldn't drink water and
were prone to violent behaviour. Er-
nest says once one of the horses har-
nessed to a buggy darted off and ran
over the farm gate, destroying the
buggy.
The pony their granddaughter liked
to ride also refused to be ridden once
it was taken to the Marshall's front
yard, facing the wind turbines.
Ernest also believes a noticeable
level of stray voltage from the turbine
may have existed on his farm, since
the only horse with steel shoes began
a strange routine when walking into
the barn. It would jump into the air
instead of simply walking through
the door, Ernest says.
One day, the couple decided to sell
the horses.
"We had to get rid of them," Ernest
says. "I thought they were going to
hurt us."
Ernest says after years of raising
horses, he'd never seen them act so
bizarrely.
In April 2008, after exactly two
years of living next to the wind tur-
bines, the Marshalls moved out of
the home they'd live in for 30 years
and into a house in Seaforth.
"We lost a lot of money on the sale
of the house, but it was better to get
away from (the turbines)," Ernest
says. "We are not against wind pow-
er. We were for it. But they shouldn't
be near people."

Correction
The headline "School board gives
60 -day delay for ARC in northern
Huron County" in last week's Huron
Expositor was incorrect. The school
board is actually extending the fi-
nal ARC meeting in northern Huron
County by one week - from Feb. 24 to
March 3, not 60 days.
