After a four-year absence, the Bill
Carnochan Memorial Atom Hockey
Zburnament returns to the Seaforth
arena on Saturday, Dec. 19 and Sun-
day, Dec. 20.
Nine teams, including three local
league teams and six representative
teams, will compete in two divisions
with a championship in each divi-
sion.
Teams from BCH, Goderich, South
Huron, Lambton Shores and Ha-
nover are coming to Seaforth to com-
pete against the home teams.
"The games should be interesting
and exciting," says organizer Craig
Metzger.
"Hanover is coming off having just
won a tournament in Gravenhurst
and Lambton Shores currently leads
their league," he says.
The tournament ran for half a doz-
en, years earlier in the decade and is
returning this year.
The opening game starts on Satur-
day morning at 8 a.m. between the
host Seaforth Stars LL team and the
BCH Ice Dogs with a representative
of the Carnochan family dropping
the puck.
The last game on Saturday ends
at 8:30 p.m. Sunday's games start
at 1:30 p.m, and conclude with the
LL Championship game at 6:30 p.m.
and the Rep Championship game at
7:45 p.m.
A Saturday breakfast is being
served in the hall in conjunction with
the Seaforth Optimists from the be-
ginning of the tournament until late
afternoon with a menu that includes
pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs,
toast, juice and Tim Hortons' coffee.
There are a number of draws being
held including a raffle for some great
prizes and a toonie draw with a $100
payout.
There are no admission charges for
anyone wanting to watch any of the
games and everyone is encouraged
to attend.

Radars ground Lucan Jets with 7-2 victory
The Clinton Radars had one of their most
impressive efforts on Saturday night when
they rolled over the Lucan Jets by a final
score of 7-2. It was a total team effort as
the Radars used seven different goal scor-
ers in the win.
Radars' defenceman Greg McGrath opened
the scoring on a powerplay just two min-
utes into the game when he leaned in to
a slapshot to score his first of the season.
With the score even at 1-1, Jason Grenier
was sent in on a short-handed breakaway
and he roofed a shot past Jets goalie K.J.
Robinson to put the Radars ahead.
The Radars erupted for three goals in the
final six minutes of the second period to
take control of the game. Luke Vick scored
the Radars third goal with his usual "dangle
around , a defender and deke out the goalie
move". Matt Anderson then scored in his
first real game action in almost two months
when he tipped a point shot past Robinson.
Jesse Bowman scored the Radars fifth goal
after he converted a nice pass from Dave
Verberne.
Anderson's and Bowman's goals were both
scored on Radar powerplays.
