.Residents get jewelery polished for holidays
Pastor Phil Wagler of Zurich Men-
nonite Churchwith the help of Caleb,
Benjamin and Sadie Wager and Lu-
cas, Sarah, Jillian and Carrie Roes,
(all homeschooled) led worship for
residents of Queensway Retirement
and Nursing Home on Tuesday Dec.
1.
Resident volunteer Marjorie Free-
man was organist for the service.
Along with Pastor Phil's message
of hope, Lucas gave a reading and
played piano, Caleb drummed and
Sarah and Benjamin each played a
Christmas Carol on the piano. Ly-
nette Roes accompanied the group
along with baby Naomi.
Residents were pleased to get their
jewelery polished up for the Christ-
mas season when
Adrian Bakelaar of
Bakelaar Jewelers in
Exeter visited Queen-
sway to offer a complimentary "jew-
elery check and clean" for residents,
staff and visitors. Christmas goodies
with coffee and tea were served to
guests as they waited for their rings
and chains to be cleaned.
The Swinging Seniors wowed resi-
dents who attended Friendship Fri-
day in the Retirement Home Lounge
with their lively music.
It's beginning to look a lot like
Christmas around Queensway with
several trees up and decorated in the
common areas. Bev Hedden worked
her decorating magic on the tree in
our big sunroom,
that everyone
agrees is particu-
larly beautiful.
Community Living client volun-
teers joined residents for a tea party
on Friday afternoon with music by
Marjorie Freeman and Katie Nixon.
Lots of visiting took place over the
delicious cookies and tea.
Queensway Volunteer Auxiliary
and Family Council met Tuesday
morning to preview the December
calendar and offer their services
where needed.
Special guest Christina Taylor
BScN of the Huron County Health
Unit presented on a project that she
and her husband Rob are a part. of,
called the "Seven
Summit Chal-
lenge" organized
Many attend Delaney funeral
Heartfelt sympathy to Doro-
thy (Jordan) Delaney on the
death of her husband James,
who passed away after their 57th anniversary.
James and Dorothy farmed for many years.
James enjoyed going to nursing homes, playing
the fiddle and entertaining.
A crowded St. Patrick's Church attended his fu-
neral where the choir performed
Irish music and other hymns.
Father Chris Gillespie offici-
ated.

Sunday school concert
scheduled for Dec. 13
Snow has arrived
in Winthrop with
colder tem- p e r a -
tures. We got through
November this year without any snow except for a few flakes
which didn't last.
The Sunday School concert will be held on Dec. 13 during
the regular service.
Larry and Susan Wheatley visited son Um and family
in Chicago on the weekend. They were helping their twin
granddaughters celebrate their second birthday.
Matthew and Jannessa McNichol and family of Alberta
visited recently with relatives and friends in the area.
