BETTLES: In loving memory of a dear husband,
father and grandfather, Paul Betties, who passed
away 3 years ago, December 11, 2006.
Remember him with a smile, he was not one for
tears,
Reflect instead on memories of all the happy
years,
Recall in mind the way he spoke and the things
he said,
His strength, his stance, and the way he walked,
Remember these instead,
The good advice he'd give us, his eyes that shone
with laughter,
So much of him will never die, but live on ever af-
ter,
He did not ask for much in life, his heart was warm
and tender,
He laboured hard for those he loved, and those he
loved remember,
We hold him close within our hearts and there he
shall remain.
- Lovingly remembered and deeply missed, Lor-
raine, Ken and Karyn, Julie and Bob, and grand-
children 46-50x1
BETTLES: In loving memory of Paul Betties who
passed away suddenly on December 11, 2006.
Beautiful memories are woven in gold,
They are the pictures we tenderly hold,
Deep in our hearts his memory is kept,
To love and cherish and to never forget.

H1N1 shots still
available
at family doctor
While the Huron County Health
Unit will no longer be offering H1N1
clinics, anyone who has a family doc-
tov at the Huron Community Fam-
ilyHealth Team can still receive an
1N1 vaccine by making an appoint-
ment.
"We'll keep ordering the vaccine as
long as the demand is there," says
Barb Major-McEwan, FHT executive
director.
The FHT offered an H1N1 clinic on
Nov 4 for patients who were part of
high risk priority groups but has no
plans to offer a clinic now that the
H1N1 shot is available for the gen-
eral public.
"Our nurses have been quite busy
with all ages getting the vaccine. We
do as many as we can each day," says
Major-McEwan. "We're not seeing
people on a drop-in basis. You need
to book a time."
She says the FHT has been giving
anywhere from nine to 22 H1N1 vac-
cines each day for the past week and
will continue as part of the regular
activity of the health centre.
"There is an expectation that an-
other wave of H1N1 will hit in the
early part of the new year so it's the
recommendation of public health
that we keep offering the vaccine for
all that want and need it. There's
lots of vaccine right now," she says.
Major-McEwan adds that since the
vaccine takes two weeks to build im-
munity to H1N1, it's good timing to
get the vaccine right now.
So far, the Huron County Health
Unit has distributed more than
20,000 inoculations in 2009. Thac's
nearly 34 per cent of the county
population, right on target with the
Health Unit's expectations.
"We're really pleased with the
turnout for the vaccine clinics," says
Christina Taylor, Huron's public
health manager. "It's almost a third
of our population, which is what we
do annually with seasonal shots and
exactly our target."
And as for confirmed cases of
H1N1 in Huron County, Taylor says
the number of H1N1 cases remains
at 21, and the severity of cases cor-
relates with expectations.
"Interestingly, our cases came
from all age groups— from little kids
way up to seniors," she says. "Most
were able to manage on their own at
home."
Though only a handful of cases re-
quired a hospital stay, those patients
for the mostart had underlying
medical conditions, or were under
five years old, Taylor adds.
