issues are being offered better access
to transportation with EasyRide, a
25 -vehicle fleet performing a door-
to-door service across Huron and
Perth counties.
Seven community support agen-
cies have partnered to provide the
service, including Town and Country
Support Services and Midwestern
with ramps and caravans.
The service began in June and
from up until the end of October, of-
fered about 14,000 rides to people
across both counties.
"It's helping people get to their doc-
tor appointments, errands and social
activities," Orchard says. "We're try-
ing to keep people living at home in-
stead of in long-term care facilities."
EasyRide received $228,000 in
funding from the Ministry of Health's
Aging at Home initiative.
