WADDINGTON, Cliff: At Seaforth Community
Hospital on Sunday, November 8, 2009, Cliff Wad-
dington of Seaforth, in his 88th year. Beloved
husband of Edna (Bell) Waddington. Loved father
of Russell (Pauline) Waddington of Waterdown,
Ray Waddington and Emily DiLoreto of Sheddon,
Cheryl (Cliffe) Donaven of Zurich and Rhonda
Chamberlain and Dave Huk of Dundas. Loving
grandfather of seven grandchildren and twelve
great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by Ed-
na's family, Carol Bell of Chilliwack, B.C., Laurie
(Dave) Harron of Atwood, Lee (Judy) Bell of Elmira
and Julie Bell and Robert McCormick of Chilli-
wack, B.C.. Dear brother of Joan Seddon and Roy
Waddington, both of England. Predeceased by
his first wife Doreen Brenda (Cowell) Waddington,
his parents Alfred and Gladys (Leeming) Wad-
dington and three siblings. A memorial gathering
and Legion service, followed by lunch for friends
and family, was held on Saturday, November 14 at
11:00 am at Northside United Church (lower level),

Stratford hospital doubles its
neonatal intensive care unit beds
Stratford General. Hospital has dou-
bled its number of available neonatal
intensive care unit beds.
Perth -Wellington MPP John Wilkin-
son announced Tuesday the addition
of three more neonatal beds to the hos-
pital's state-of-the-art pediatric unit.
SGH now has six neonatal care beds
in its special -needs nursery.
Wilkinson told hospital staff and
guests that more moms and their new-
borns can now get access to intensive
care closer to home. "There is ... a need
here locally," he said.
Babies who are born premature or
full-term with special needs often
have to be cared for outside of the city,
sometimes outside of the province, he
said.
There is often frustration felt with-
in the maternal child unit, "when

There are now 687 neonatal inten-
sive care beds in Ontario.
Dr. Kirsten Blaine, chief of pediatrics
at SGH, said child birth is such a big
event in life, and keeping moms and
babies here is important.
Stratford General and the HPHA
need to provide care "as excellent" as
anywhere else in the province, she said.
Stratford General provides health ser-
vices for 1,200 newborns each year.
