Changes within United Church is topic at anniversary service
We had a few nice days at
the beginning of the week,
but now we are back to
dampness. However, the tem-
peratures haven't been too
cool. The corn, I understand,
is not drying too well.
Rev. Sheila's sermon at our
Anniversary Service was
titled "It's Tune for a Rummage
Sale." She .talked about how
the United Church has
changed and is changing over
the years: A quartet from
Stratford contributed several
numbers. A delicious lunch
was served afterwards.
Recently Don
and Maja Dodds
were presented
with the 2009
Huron County
Federation of
Agriculture award
at the Federation
annual meeting in
Seaforth. Don
and Maja have
both been active
in Cavan United
Church as well
as the Seaforth.
Agricultural
Society and the
Huron County
Plowmen's
Association. Don
has been a 4-H
leader and Maja
has been involved
with the Seaforth
Food Bank over
the years.
Several people
from the area
attended • the
delicious turkey
supper put on by
Egmondville
United Church
last Wednesday.
Next Wednesday
(today) is
Walton's turkey
supper, held in
the Brussels
arena.
