The three songs the choir will per-
form are God Bless Us Every One,
Love Came Down at Christmas and
One Single Candle.
About half of the children who've
attended the rehearsals have experi-
ence singing in a choir.
Wood says the group will get their
first chance to sing in front of an au-
dience on Nov. 13 c tiring the tree -
lighting ceremony at the Seaforth
Community Hospital, where they'll
sing Christmas carols.
After the performance of "A Christ-
mas Carol", which will generate
proceeds for Huron Hospice, Wood
says if there is still enough interest
among the kids: she'd like to start up
a spring choir in May.
For more information on the choir,
phone Wood at 519-600-2458.
Liquor violations involving youth
alarm Huron OPP officers
Half of the 10
provincial offence
notices related to
liquor violations hand-
ed out on the weekend happened in
Huron East, reports the Huron OPP.
And, almost all of the incidents
involved minors who were either in
possession of liquor, who were con-
suming liquor or who had open li-
quor in a motor vehicle.
Four of the liquor violations oc-
curred on Roxboro Line, involving
five youth aged 12 to 19.
One incident on Goderich Street
East in,Seaforth involved a 22 -year-
old.
Other viola-
tions occurred in
Bluewater with
a 19 -year-old, Cen-
tral Huron with a 37 -year-old with
open liquor, in North Huron with
a 17 -year-old and Goderich with a
43 -year-old.
Huron OPP report that no one was
injured in these incidents.
"This dangerous `Huron County'
trend needs to be addressed at all
levels but first and foremost by par-
ents. It's not acceptable to state that
`Huron County is a boozin' county.
That's just the way it is,'" says Const.
Joanna Van Mierlo.
