Cultural Symposium on Saturday,
November 7, 2009..
The main focus of the symposium
will be to look at various models of
arts and cultural collectives: arts
councils, municipal advisory com-
mittees, and other examples of suc-
cessful arts, culture and heritage
organizations, and discuss which
of these models, if any, we as a
community might be interested in
establishing in Huron County.
The symposium will be facilitat-
ed by Sonja Erstic, from the Minis-
try of Culture, and Rick Sickinger,
Coordinator for Heritage and Cul-
ture Partnership.
Participants will also discuss
how the community can go about
implementing some other recom-
mendations contained in the Hu-
ron County Cultural Plan includ-
ing: establishing a database and
website to promote all the cultural
and heritage assets in the County;
publication of an arts, culture and
heritage newsletter; and the cre-
ation of networking and profes-
sional development opportunities
for the sector.
