arming begins for Remembrance Day parade
Seaforth Legion President Gwen
Harburn and Auxiliary President
Donelda Barry attended gradu-
ation ceremonies at Central Hu-
ron Secondary School in Clinton
and . gave out six bursaries to
Alex Cardno, Jennie Hildebrand,
Melissa Pushelberg, Ashley Cole-
man, Meagan McDougall and Gw-
ynne Burgess.
The Zone C-1 bus went to Park -
wood Hospital on Sept. 26 and
four Seaforth branch members
attended. There are now 65 vet-
erans there and after a program,•
each of them was given a goodie
bag and an afghan. Veterans in
Seaforth area nursing homes will
each receive one at Christmas.
Angelina Swartz, Marion Clark
and the Coffee Club girls from
Vanastra knitted all of the af-
ghans.
Cribbage will again start on
Oct. 27 at 7- p.m. Zone C-1 crib-
bage will be heald at the Blyth
Branch 420 on Nov. 14 so sign up
now to attend.
The Veterans' dinner will be
held in Exeter on Oct. 25.
Seaforth's annualpoppy drive
will be held on Nov. 1 under the
capable hands of Comrade Rick
Fortune. Many volunteers are
needed.
Nov. 7 will be our Remembrance
Dinner and also the Honours and
Awards Banquet so plan to at-
tend. The tickets are now at the
bar.
Our church service will be held
on Nov. 8 at St. Thomas Anglican
Church at 9:30 a.m.
