Cavan celebrates Worldwide Communion Sunday
We have certainly had a change
in the weather in Winthrop, which
proves fall is here.
Mary Fletcher's sermon at Cavan
United Church was titled "Sharing
Our Bread." The service was for
World Wide Communion Sunday
and communion. was served.
Sunday School has resumed for
the children. All are welcome to at-
tend services at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
Attending the International
Plowing Match form the area were
Brian and Carol Anne Campbell.
Barb and Ray Storey also attend-
ed, taking their first holiday since
they were married 29 years ago.
The Storeys went by New Liskard
and saw where the first plowing
match site was in Earlton and
spent an evening with Charles
Regele and family.
They also drove to Thunder. Bay
where they saw lots of lakes, rocks
and trees and fall colours, which
were just starting.'•
They stayed next at Brandon,
Man. where they saw good farm
land.
They also stayed at Alex and Gail
Glanville's place at Melfort, Sask.
where they were harvesting wheat
and swathing canola. They were
having a good
harvest, as were
many farmers in
the Prairie prov-
inces.
They went
then to Veg-
reville to visit
syrup customers
Anton and Amy
Powley and saw
a • big Ukraini-

the wind.
Next, they
went to Jasper
and drove down
the mountain,
stopping at the
ice fields. In Red

at Brooks, Alta. and travelled the
south part of the province, seeing
fields of lentils, soybeans, corn,
