Live music show has some residents up off
their feet and moving on the dance floor
& Fitness started the week for
Queensway Nursing and Retirement
Home residents on Monday morning
with an energetic workout for the
body, led by Mandi, followed by mind
stimulating word games and mental
aezbics.
Ii the afternoon, the Hensall Pres-
byrian women provided assistance
andprizes for bingo.
'Rti,roughou.t the day Lori Burt, reg-
istered massage therapist, adminis-
tered her soothing services to resi-
dents.
Breakfast group met Tuesday
morning over delicious pancakes,
syrup, fruit and sausage as well as
lots of good conver-
sation.
Later in the morn-
ing, Rev. John Trem-
bulak of Zion Lutheran Church led
worship for residents. The residents
appreciated his message and old
time booming preacher's voice, of
the type they remember from before
sound systems became . common in
churches.
In the afternoon, residents ben-
efited from sensory program and in
the evening -several took part in the
Wii Game workout with the student
activation aide.
Residents benefited from music
therapy with

session, drumming
group and one-to-one music therapy.
In the afternoon, baking group met
to make tasty butter tarts.
The September Birthday Party cel-
ebration was a highlight on Thurs-
day_ when Marie Flynn's group made
up of Orville Storey, Murray and
Sherry McCall, John Jewitt and Jo-
seph Flynn on violins, Earl Flynn on
the drums .and Marie and Simone
Flynn playing piano, provided some
beautiful music for residents. An
added feature was a performance by
Hannah Ladd, Melissa Dykstra and

Paul & Joan Spittal, & Bruce & Linda Adamson are
pleased to announce the forthcoming marriage of
their children Cara & Rob. The couple will be married
in Guysborough, Nova Scotia on October 10, 2009,
& are living in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Vanessa Ladd of the Carry On Clog-
gers.
Resident's Council met Friday
morning to preview the upcoming
month of October and offer their in-
put and in the afternoon the library/
tuck cart traveled the hallways for
residents' convenience.
Saturday afternoon, -residents,
family members and friends filled
the Activity room for a performance
by Harvey Smith, Devon Martene,
Harold Mills and Shirley Dann. The
blend of guitar, violin, piano and ac-
cordion had several residents up on
the dance door.
St. James CWL meeting is
scheduled for Oct. 6
Simon Ronan Kramers,
son of David and Karen;
Isaak Robert Smith, son of
Bob and Pam; Benjamin El-
liott Van Loon, son of Jeff' and
Michelle and Austin Wayne
Hartman, son of John and
Tara, were all baptized at St.
Patrick's Church, Dublin on
Sept. 26.
St. Patrick's CWL held a
meeting on Sept. 29. Once
again the CWL will be pray-
ing the rosary at St. Patrick's
Church during the month of
October. Prayers will begin
at 7:15 p.m.
St. James CWL meeting
will be held on Oct. 6 in the
vestry at 7 p.m.
Prizes will be awarded for garden plants

scores for Sept. 15 are as fol-

At Hensall United Church the minister was
Pastor Brian McGuffin. Music was provided by
Lisa McGuffin and Paul Candler.
Suxlday School began this week at Hensall
United Church. All children are welcome to at-
tend. For further information please contact Lisa
Elder at 236-7928.
At Carmel Presbyterian Church Pastor Andy
Meinen was the minister with Joyce Pepper
playing the organ. The offering
was received by Al, Hoggarth
and Harry Moir.
The Hensall and Community
Horticultural Society will meet on Sept. 24 at
Hensall United Church for the Fall Plant Auc-
tion.
Members are asked to bring plants from their
gardens - the more plants you bring the better
your chance of winning a door prize.
Local nurseries will be invited to donate plants
for the auction as well. Everyone is invited to at-
tend and enjoy fellowship and lunch.
Donations will be accepted at 6:30 p.m., bidding
will begin at 7p.m.
