The Huron Expositor • September 23, 2009 Page 21 News -_ County considers Huronview housing The Kevin Costner inspired mantra "if you build it, they will come" was once again up for debate as Coun. John Bezaire (Central Huron) won- dered whether those on Goderich's housing waiting list would consider moving to Clinton if a development is created at Huronview. "It'd be like saying if we build it, will you come?" said social services administrator David Overboe, who reported a consultant would conduct a sweeping needs' study that would consider potential areas for develop- ment like the Victoria Public School site in Goderich. Coun. Deb Shewfelt (Goderich) said though there are 79 people on the Goderich wait ..>.........,..r rk,.....: ing list, it would 41.Cards of Thanks REGELE We wish to express our sincerest thanks to fam- ily, friends and neighbours (new and old) for their thoughts, prayers, phone calls and visits while Bob was in the hospital and after his passing. County Warden Ken Oke said he is also on board with the Clinton idea. Still, Bezaire questioned develop- ing a site in Clinton would alleviate the overall problem of a lack of hous- ing in Goderich. Overboe said the short answer is the department could begin contact- ing those on the waiting list to dis- cern whether they'd be interested in relocating. The COW formed a committee, in- cluding county staff and councillors to look into the possibility of devel- oping social housing at the Huron - view site. Wefing4Ifeffilieft* WED.
