Survived by her loving husband William Milne of 43 years and their children, Stephen and Susanne Milne, Mike Milne and Kari Tunks and - Sarah Milne and Matt Pearson. Greatly missed by her adored grandchildren, Madison,Mason and Dawson Milne, Shannon and Ethan Milne Pear- son. Also survived and loved by her father Ar- thur Bourns (predeceased by her mother Marion, March 2008), sister Barbara Brown and her hus- band Douglas, brother Robert Bourns and his wife Myra and brother Brian Bourns and his wife Eliza- beth. She and her husband visited over 35 countries mainly in the course of two year long travels with their children.She was instrumental in starting the Montessori nursery school in Owen Sound. Susan was in the first class to graduate from the Women's Studies Program of York Uni- versity and as a result of her thesis,encouraged York University and several other universities to offer gender neutral degree nomenclature. She spent more than ten years of her working life at the Women's Centre in Owen Sound as both a manager and executive director. Susan and her husband spent several years living and working in northern BC in remote First Nations communi- ties - her second home. Everywhere she went she touched the lives of all she met. At her request, a private family service will be held on September 25, 2009 at the family farm in Alliston,Ontario.An open reception will follow the service where the family will welcome public memories and con- dolences between 2 and 4 p.m. at the farm.
