Residents attend .Threshers Reunion in Blyth
The Threshers Reunion in Blyth
was the destination of Queensway
Nursing and Retirment Home resi-
dents Friday, Sept. 11 when Charlie
of Murphy Bus Line's picked resi-
dents, staff and volunteers up at 10
a.m. for the much anticipated out-
ing.
On arrival some residents and
their volunteers boarded the "people
movers" for a leisurely tour of the
grounds, several headed to the are-
na to see the numerous displays and
vendors while still others decided to
enjoy the musical entertainment on
the main stage.
The steam whistles, exhaust smoke
and sounds of motors labouring dur-
ing the tractor pull, brought memo-
ries of yesteryear to residents.
When everyone boarded the bus for
a reluctant departure there was an-
other treat in store as driver Charlie
took a tour of the scenic Benmiller
area and other especially beautiful
sideroads where everyone could view
the crops on the way home.
Queensway was pleased to be part
of the seniors' health fair held at the
Exeter Community Centre Thursday,
Sept. 10 with an information booth
explaining what we are all about.
It was interesting to see the prolif-
eration of products and services fo-
cused on seniors at this most worth-
while event.
Pastor
Scott Stein of Em-
manuel Baptist
Church in Exeter led worship at
Queensway Tuesday and spent time
visiting with residents following the
service.

noon Wednesday stirring up deli-
cious raisin, coconut
butter tarts to freeze for
use at our upcoming fam-

dessert choices along with.

hope it stays for a few more

Northside is having a meet-
ing at Northside after the
service on Sunday, Sept.
20. The meeting is being
held to approve the needs
assessment for the charge.
Sympathy of the com-
munity is extended to the
family of Bob Regele, who
passed away recently. Bob
and Laurene lived and
farmed for over 40 years
on the farm at the corner of
Winthrop Road and Hen-
sall Road. They had re-
cently moved to Mitchell.
Food for Thought
There must be some
reason people's ears were
made to stay open and their
mouths made to shut.
