Local farmers compete in Huron and
Perth County plowing matches
School is back in session. Where did
the summer go! We have had some
summer-like days lately in Winthrop
but the nights sure feel like fall.
Our new minister was in the pulpit
on Sunday. Greeters and collectors
were Jim and Diane Rapson.
Several Winthrop -area residents
attended the Huron County Plowing
Match, which was held last week on
the farm of . Bob and Pat Down, just
north of Exeter.
Competing in the variouslowin
classes were George Zbwnsend, Trevor
Zbwnsend, Les and Fraser Falconer,
Paul Dodds, Steven and Kevin Haney,
Brandon and Jacob McGavin, Troy
Leeming, Darryl
O'Rourke, Brian
MacDonald, Da-
vid Grobbink,
Scott Baan and
Stuart Higgins.
Several of our lo-
cal plowmen com-
peted in the Perth
County Plowing
Match the day fol-
lowing.

Fred McGregor of

Visiting recently with Carolyn and
Paul Somerville were sons Bradley
and Scott, of Alberta. They hadn't seen
them for about two years and were
surprised how tall Scott has grown.
