The Seaforth Mites were undefeat- ed on Aug. 21 and 22 in the tourna- ment. Seaforth defeated Clinton 15-3 and Londesboro NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION. We had a really strong team," says coach Cindy Nigh, who adds they played 18 games during the season. Nigh says the team worked really well together during the tournament and credited pitcher Chad Higenell and first base player Ryan Govier with "some•-esome catches." "It was an amazing year," she says. The Winthrop Mites won the B championship, losing their first game 11-10 to Blyth to enter the B side of the tournament. "It was a real nailbiter," says coach Chris Cardno of the first game. Winthrop then went on to beat Hol- mesville 19-6 and Londesboro 6-5 for the championship. "The bases were loaded with two out and they walked in the winning run," says Cardno of the champion- ship game. Although the Winthrop team had lost its last seven games before the final tournament, Cardno says the team really came together for the tournament.
