The last few days have been hot and mostly humid. We've waited over a month for this. Thursday's rain was both heavy and needed. Our hydro only flick- ered but I understand other areas were out for a longer period of time. The service at Cavan United Church on Sunday was led by Kathy Doug- las. About 43 mem- bers of the family of Beatrice Campbell met for a picnic at the Winthrop Ball Park on August 16. The children enjoyed the play- ground equipment and games while the adults visited.
