Askett says the organization made sure the students had a balanced sched- ule of work and free time. "There was a lot of emphasis on having fun while working," Askett says, noting that the volunteers were able to take breaks from the job to play with local children or relax under the shade of a tree. "We taught the kids some songs, like the Chicken Dance," •Askett says. "We bonded close to- gether." Bruxer says that when classes be- gin again at St. Anne's Secondary School next month, some mdmbers of the group hope to write letters to the children in Masai Mara.
