It was nice seeing other people work on theirs as well." Eckert, who has been painting for as long as she can recall, says the best part about using paint to create art is the lack of limitations. "I think there's just a lot of freedom in it. It's whatever you want, what- ever your imagination can create." Eckert's enthusiasm for any oppor- tunities to make further connections with other local artists is clear. "I think we should do it again and maybe have more people involved and continue into the fall and winter. Although it would be a lot. of work to set up, but it would be nice to have a place where people can go and paint, maybe have a center," she says. "That would be really good for the County. It would be really sad if it ended and this was the only one. It's so great to find other artists that are out there." Once the Blyth Festival's regular season concludes, the mural will be making the rounds of local libraries and other municipal buildings.
