Waterproofing and repaving expected
to add 15-25 years to bridge's life
•Dan Schwab_
Huron East council agreed to accept the
tender of Lavis Contracting Limited in the
amount of $891,329 for paving and bridge
deck repairs on Cranbrook Road and Mc-
Nabb Line.
The project includes the pavement re-
surfacing of about 12 kilometres of road
including waterproofingand paving five
concrete bridge decks, with minor repairs
made to three of them, including the read-
justment of drain portals.
With federal funding from the Infrastruc-
ture Stimulus Fund, there is a budgeted
amount of $1,400,000 for the project, leav-
ing $508,670 to complete the repairs to a
fourth bridge next year.
The stimulus program also stipulates
that the work be completed by March
2011.
Public works manager Barry Mills says
the waterproofing and paving job is "sup-
posed to add another 15 to 25 years to the
life expectancy of the bridge."

Wind company will meet
with Logan landowners
From Page 7 •
"I appreciate what they did but the problems are still
there," she said.
Some Logan landowners said that the meeting may
have been less combative for RES without the uproar in
neighbouring Huron East.
I think they came at the wrong time," said Christine
Francis about RES. "They should've waited until the sit-
uation in Huron East was figured out."
RES assistant development director Nikki Roehrig
said the dialogue at the meeting wouldn't be the only
measure of community support.
Attendees were encouraged to hand in comment forms
with their private opinions. Muszynski said RES will also
meet individually with Logan landowners, but couldn't
say when RES will make a final decision on whether to.
proceed with the project.
