Taste tests were enjoyed over visits
and coffee as residents decided they
tasted much better than they looked
with several falling apart when tak-
en from the cookie sheets. Those in
attendance wondered if the old ad-
age about "Too many cooks" may
have applied.
Manicures, massage, games, knit-
ting group and Wii game workout
completed the week for residents.
Gladys `Tc .n Egmond and The Mer-
rymakers were the featured enter-
tainment at Queensway Nursing and
Retirement Home for July's birthday
party, and entertain they did, with
drums, piano and accordian mu-
sic along with sev-
eral wonderful solos
by George Turner.
Many family mem-
bers and friends joined
the party to help their loved ones cel-
ebrate.
Fun and Fit-
ness with Mandi
gave residents
a good work-
out Monday,
Wednesday and
Friday morning,
followed by quiz-
zes and games
to give minds a
workout as well.
Range of motion,
strength train-
ing and walk-
ing programs
throughout the
week also help
residents to be

Lindsey Haney and Alexis Repovz were
married Saturday, May 30, 2009 in Etobi-
coke. Lindsey is the son of Lyle Haney. and
Gwen Good of Seaforth•and Yvonne Haney
of St Thomas. Alexis is the daughter of Victor
and Sonia Repovz of Etobicoke. The couple
spent their honeymoon in Aruba.. and now
reside in St Thomas.

The ladies of
Kippen United
Church have been
providing assistance
and prizes for the Monday afternoon
bingo games and residents very
much appreciate these women who
are so generous with their time and
prizes.
Breakfast group attendees dined
on fried eggs, bacon, toast, fruit,
tea and coffee Tuesday morning. An
added benefit is the change in din-
ing companions from those regularly
dined with at mealtimes.
Rev. John Zwann led worship ser-
vice Tuesday with Belva Fuss as vol-
unteer pianist.
In the afternoon, ice cream parlour
drew a hungry crowd eager to try o'ut
the variety of toppings and ice cream
available.

Parish picnic to
be in Lions Park
The parish picnic for St. James and
St. Patrick's Churches will be held at
the Lions Park Pool. Swimming and
games will be held for all to enjoy.
St. Columban Cemetery Sunday is
scheduled for Aug. 30 at 2 p.m. St.
Patrick's Cemetery Sunday is sched-
