MNR reports that bear sightings continue
This tourist is a real bear.
The Ministry of Natural Re
sources - reports bear sightings
continue to come in with regard
to one of the county's newest sea-
sonal residents.
Bev Stevenson, senior fish -and -
wildlife specialist with the MNR's
Clinton office, says they have re-
ceived.. seven additional black -
bear sightings from the Sunset
Beach Road area up through
Kingsbridge.
I believe the first report was
near Sunset Beach, and the re-
ports gradually move north," Ste-
venson said.

The MNR suspects
sightings involve the
same lone bear that
has been patrol-
ling the Lake Huron
shoreline for more
than a month. Wild-
life officials note
there have been
nearly 40 reported
sightings since June
1.
"There are bears al-
most all throughout
Bruce County, and
Huron is kind of like
a spillover area," said

once a food source such
as field corn matures,
the animal may move
to that area.
In the meantime, resi-
