Residents enjoying summer vacations
The weather in Winthrop is
improving somewhat but still re-
mains cooler than usual.
Last Sunday at Egmondville
United Church, Dave Williams
led the worship service. Dave has
been the worship leader at Cavan
and Northside in the past.
Orville and Lila Storey hosted
a family get-together at their
farm. All their children were in
attendance with Gail corning the
farthest (Sask.).
The other six all
live nearby. There
were 66 members in
attendance.
With Orville and Lila's love of
music, the get together naturally
included fiddling, music and danc-
ing. Carali McCall, John, Marcy
and Alivia McCall MacBain and
Shawna O'Neill and family were
also able to attend.

Doug and Gail
Schroeder have
returned home
after aweek on
Lake Huron near Lions' Head.
Their four grandchildren were
with them for part of the week.
Grandpa and the boys enjoyed a
game of golf, but the girls only last
four holes. They watched the July

Family reunion draws 175 descendents
A family reunion was enjoyed on
June 27, as about 175 descendents
of James Delaney and Sarah Mc-
Quaid gathered in Dublin.
All ages from attended, from new-
borns including Garnet Parker,
grandson of Paul Malone, and Con-
nor Foran, grandson of Irene Kelly,
t the oldest attendent, James Del-
aney, who is the only surviving son of
James and Sarah. Others travelled
from a distance to attend, including
Gerry Malone Bairer and her fam-
ily from British Columbia. Everyone
enjoyed a day of music, laughter and
merriment.
The day ended with an old fiddle
session organized by Tom Melady
and his group of Lucille (Delaney)
Panziera, her sons Liam, D'Arcy,
Brennan and Ronan, Jeanne Mela-
dy, Jim Delaney and Chris (Delaney)
McClure.
Junior farmers host international guests,
teaching them about Huron's rural farms

Icecultures plant, and Co-op and
several local farms. •
They also played baseball for the
first time, travelling to a Junior
Farmers' baseball tournament at
Wasaga Beach.
"We've never played baseball be-
fore. We're used to playing cricket,"
says Barnard.
"I've never played anything like
it," adds Huber.
Barnard and Young note that see-
ing a farmer's name on the barn is
also something they've never seen
at home.
