"We've covered an awful
lot with -different kinds of
groups," said Laura
Overholt, proj-
ect manager for
HealthKick Hu-
ron, a facilitator
of the local pro-
gram.
Overholt says
the five-day pro-
gram was meant
to give high
school students a
glimpse into what
it's like to work in
healthcare.
"Really, it's to
help them make
they're interested in and
maybe one that they didn't
necessarily express inter-
est in, just so that we make
• sure they broaden their
horizons and experience as
much healthcare as pos-
sible."

Walton's Rosie Grobbink,
who's helped plan and or-
ganize the MedQuest Camp
in Seaforth for the past two
years, says it was important
that this year's program
give the students access to
a wide range of healthcare
professionals from different
fields.
"Each student is unique
and has different inter-
ests," Grobbink said. "Gen -

found that maybe they were
interested in a particular
career they didn't think
that they were at first."
Katie Crocker, 17, of Va-
nastra, says during her
time job shadowing in a chi-
ropractor's office, she dis-
covered the profession may
be a potential career path
she'd like to follow in the
future.
"I'd never really thought
of it before and it actu-
ally opened up my train of
thought about being a chi-
ropractor," she said. "It re-
ally intrigued me."
