bids farewell
to Rev. John Gould
at outdoor service
W e
passed
the date
when spring
changes to summer so now
the days are getting short-
er. We have also started
getting warmer weather in
Winthrop, along with some
moisture.
This Sunday was our an-
nual outdoor service at the
ball park. Rev. John's ser-
mon was titled "First Im-
pressions." It was his last
service before leaving for
his new charge.
Liz Graz , and Marion
Hunt were the greeters
and collectors. Marie Flynn
and her group of msicians
entertained before he ser-
vice. Several W a 'liar

sung.
After the
service a delicious brunch
was served. Next service at-

Beatrice, Bob and Ruth
Campbell travelled to
Strathroy on Sunday to
celebrate the 40th anniver-
• sary of Ron and Darlene
Campbell.

Three area hospitals are reaping the benefits of the Vanastra Lion's Club's generosity. The Seaforth
Community, Clinton Public and Alexandra Marine General Hospital sites were all presented with $2,000
donations on June 23. (Front) Jennifer MacLeod, Diane Ryan, Rolland and Linda Ringette and Glenn
MacLachlan. (Back) Jim Ryan, Kim Hodgins presents the donation to Ron Lavoie and Bill Scott of the
Seaforth Community Hospital, alongside Lion's members Gene Vincent and Heather Richey. Funds were
raised through the club's annual Git R Done canoe rally, which drew numerous business sponsors.
Whirlwind week at Queensway sees residents enjoying
Strawberry Social and receiving flag pins from MP Ben Lobb
Residents had a whirlwind of ac-
tivities throughout the week as
we wrapped up Seniors' Month at
Queensway Retirement and Nursing
Home.
Retirement residents were excited
to have a visit from' Member of Par-
liament, Ben' Lobb as he brought Ca-
nadian flag pins and information for
residents and staff as we look ahead
to Canada Day celebrations Wednes-
day, July 1.
The Strawberry Social fundraiser
for chosen recipient, VON Volunteer
Palliative Care Program was .a suc-
cess with $160 raised for the organi-
zation.
The featured entertainment "Lil
Audrey" was a hit with family mem-
bers aid friends joining residents
for the delicious fresh strawberries,
cake and whipped

June birthdays were celebrated
Thursday evening with creamsicle
birthday- cake, lemonade and the
classic country music of John and
Geneva Heaman.
Family and friends again support-
ed Queensay with their presence as
they joined their loved ones for the
event.
Birthday celebrants each sported
a beautiful corsage or boutoniere
made by volunteer
