Jack Russell puppy stolen from
Egmondville residence

A four -month-old Jack Russell ter-
rier called Jill was the latest addition
to Melinda Hervieux's Egmondviile
family until the puppy was stolen last
Monday from her front lawn.
"A blue mini van pulled
up and a middle-aged
white woman went onto
my property and took the
dog. The -kids are still
crying about it," says
Hervieux. .
The theoccurred rred some-
time between 2 and 3 p.m.
on Monday, June 22 at the
corner of Mill and Kippen
Roads: '
• . While Hervieux was
not home at the time, .
her husband 'Jason had
let the puppy outside. Jill
ran in among the trees of the corner lot
and,Jason did not gee the dog taken.
He sent the kids, aged six to nine, out
to look for Jill but it wasn't until they
started asking .neighbours that they
heard about the woman taking the
Jack:Russell .tetrlet. .
"The puppy wouldn't go near her so
she chased the puppy and grabbed
her. I'm very upset about it - I can't
believe someone would do that," says
Hervieux. •
Jill was the playmate of the fam-
ily's second Jack Russell, a two-year-
old male called Jack. The
family also has two Rot-
tweilllers.
Hervieux says she's re-
ported the incident to the
Huron OPP but couldn't
share too many identify-
ing characteristics.
"We talked to the police
but they said they can't
pull over everyone with a
blue mini van," she says.
She's hoping anyone
who may have seen the
incident could provide
more information to the
Huron OPP.

throughout
Huron County
Susan Hundertnigrk
The Huron County Federation of
Agriculture will be visiting munici-
palities throughout Huron 'County
asking them to follow Huron East's
leadgby passing interim control by-
laws on commercial wind energy
projects within their borders.
HCFA directors discussed the cur-
rent debate around wind turbine
developments at their June meeting
and passed two resolutions.
One was to request lower tier mu-
nicipalities in Huron to enact a mor-
atorium on commercial wind energy
projects pending results of an epide-
miological study conducted into the
health impacts of the specific infra-
structure on residents living near
such developments.
The other was to support an epide-

structure of wind energy projects on
residents living near such develop-
ments. .
HCFA president Wayne Black says
he'll be attending council. meetings .

to councillors about their thoughts
about wind prc cts. •
He says asking municipalities to
enact a moratorium is basically ask-

"Huron Fast didn't influence us to
pass the resolution but we are asking
other munidpalities to do the same
thing Hurof East did," he says.
