Public urged to nominate candidates for Citizenship Awards
Shaun Gregory
Huron Expositor
The Municipality of Huron
East and the Seaforth Agri-
cultural Society are joining
forces for a memorable night
to recognize three of Sea -
forth and areas most "valua-
ble" citizens.
The Citizenship Awards
are presented to those who
volunteer countless hours
of their time all for the ben-
efit of the community.
Nominations are usually
kept on file for three years and
will carry forward into the fol-
lowing years as there is only
one win in each category per
lifetime of the nominee, as
well as one award per year
"7hese awards are chosen
based on the person's con-
tribution to the community
in a volunteer capacity,"
stated in a press releases cre-
ated by both Huron East and
the Ag Society.
There are no restrictions
in terms of who may vote
for the person they believe
should be awarded.
The three categories are
listed below:
Service To Sports -A per-
son that volunteers his/her
time to sports organiza-
tions, or sports in general in
Seaforth and Area.
Civic Service -A person
that belongs to a service
club or community organi-
zation in which he/she
contributes many hours of
time for the betterment of
the community.
Humanitarian Service- A
person who is considerate
of mankind, and is willing
to give his/her time to help
other people.

candidate, submit a nomi-
nation form to:

It Assessment will identify options
Ar to maximize the benefits of
Goderich, Wingham airports
Huron County's two pub-
licly owned airports are being
studied to determine the best
uses of these infrastructure
assets going forward.
Due to their experience
developing innovative solu-
tions to increase the value
and competitiveness of
small and medium sized air-
ports throughout Canada
and the northern
US, Explorer Solutions of
Montreal has been hired to
lead the assessment, which
is in its initial stages.
The work will review cur-
rent airport operations for
efficiencies, identify shared -
service opportunities,
explore ways to reduce costs
and increase both aviation
and non -aviation based
revenue.
Capital investment
requirements to maintain
the viability of these assets
over the next 20 years will
also be determined. The
results of the study are
expected before the end of
this year.
