Lisa Thompson, the MPP for Huron -Bruce, asked the Premier directly why the Minister of Environment and Climate Change chose to ignore these concerns. "If the Premier was listening to Ontario residents, she would know that there are legitimate concerns about wind farms across the province," said Thompson. In the interview with Global News, the Minister claimed that testing was only being con- ducted on one wind project, the K-2 wind farm in Huron -Bruce. But he failed to acknowledge the widespread concerns about industrial wind turbines coming from every corner of the province. Thompson's colleagues took the opportunity to ask the Pre- mier questions on industrial wind turbines as well. Their concerns included issues such as key information and testi- mony being redacted before an appeal, case files that were closed with no action being taken, concerns about improper measurements going ignored, the Liberals refusing to vote in favour of a moratorium on new wind projects, and lastly, this government's refusal to halt a project in Dutton Dunwich which is currently being opposed by the municipality. "The reality unveiled by Global News yesterday should be taken seriously and you would think the government would do the honourable thing; to respect and address each and every concern," said Thompson, "Ontarians have been voicing their concerns for years, they just need a government that will listen, so a proper resolution can be achieved." Seaforth Generals give an update for upcoming season With June now here, the Sea - forth Generals have been busy with recruiting for their 2017-2018 CPJHL season. The CPJHL has seen its own share of changes after the launch of their first ever season. The O -Town Rebels and the Almonte Jr. Sharpshoots have decided to call it quits. The league has now welcomed an expansion class that includes the Creemore Barley Kings, Mada- waska Valley Falcons, Coldwater Ice Wolves, and the Bracebridge Pioneers. The league has been notified that the Norwood Nemesis have relocated and rebranded as the Coboug Galaxy and the GlenGarry Highlanders have moved to Smith Falls and will be now called the Settlers. The Generals will see an over- haul of talent on the ice this season. "There will be a select group of players returning from last year's team- however after going 4-44 we have been heavily recruiting to help fill some of those gaps," Coach TJ Runhart said. "We made it through the first season, we have done a lot of evaluations of play- ers, ourselves as coaching and the everyday grind involved with run- ning a program like this. We con- tinue to build relationships within the community, and we will con- tinue to do so moving forwards." "We were a better team than our record showed last year, we were short some bodies and often ran out of steam and let games slip away. We have a great core group that we are building off and will have some additions that make immediate impacts." Locals Jack Buckley and last sea- son's assistant Captain Scott Chisholm have been tender con- tracts to return. Kodee Keys will be returning this season and will be looked at for veteran leadership. The Dupo, Illinois native spent last season with the Generals posting six goals and six assists in 45 games. Another key returning player is Cambridge, Ont. native Patrick Silva. He came to the Generals in November after his GMIIL team folded and left him with nowhere to play. "Patty came in and boosted our line up for sure. He is a big boy, he scored, he was physical and he brought some Junior Hockey expe- rience- which we lacked," Runhart said about the 6 foot 2, 2201bs hockey player. Two early spring signings saw the Generals ink Dean De Souter of Belgium. Last season Dean posted 14 goals, 20 assists in 19 games for the Herentals HYC U19 program, as well Dean played in Antwerp Phantoms in the Senior Division 1. "Dean is going to have a chance to put his full arsenal of talents on display for us in many different sit- uations. 1-le's a 20 -year-old who wants to make it to that next level and we're going to do our best at getting him there," Coach Runhart had to say on the signing of De Souter. The second signing is Ethan Scrimgeour, who is a 16 -year-old from Londeshorough Ont. The St. Anne's student played for Bob Zimmer and the Stratford Minor r -7 -in Now 1'U. Midgets in the Alliance A/AA loop last season. Ethan ended the sea- son 4th on the team in points. "Ethan will be a bit of a surprise to some this season. His foot speed is there to play at this level, mixed with his quick release and shot -- should catch a few goalies this sea- son. He's a workhorse, getting big- ger, stronger, and quicker with each passing day. He'll have a lot to prove this season," Runhart said about Scrimgeour.
