Another successful
chicken dinner in Vanastra
Shaun Gregory
Huron Expositor
The Vanastra Recrea-
tion Centre held its third
annual chicken dinner
April 28 and as usual
other than the few meals
purchased at the door,
the event was pretty
much advertised as a
sell-out.
Once again, the meal
was catered and pre-
pared by Scott Saunders'
Rollin' Roaster with suc-
culent slabs of chicken,
baked beans, carrot
salad, buns and dessert.
"The reason why were
saying it was sold out
(was) for the fact that
there is a cut off line,"
explained Lissa Berard,
facility manager for the
Vanastra Recreation
Centre.
"You must have a
(designated) number to
give the caterer; before
your actual event, he
has to know how much
to cook."
Approximately 220
tickets were sold, a
slightly smaller number
than the 300 plus sold
the previous year.
What if one company
could solve all your
business needs?
We can connect all the pieces
in more ways than ever before.

Each plate goes for $15
and out of the fee, Rollin'
Roaster charges the
Vanastra Recreation
Centre a specific per-
centage while the
remaining funds are
placed in reserve funds
for the facility.
In 2016, the event
accumulated roughly
$1,200, which was put
towards the paving of
their parking lot.
Berard has not tallied
up the profits yet, but
said all the remaining
funds will be put towards
their future projects.
