launches business in
Vanaastra

After completing
their chores around
the house for an allow-
ance, most kids run to
the corner store to buy
candy but not Diane;
she bought a camera
and has been taking
photos ever since.
It's been about seven
years that she's been
going on location
shoots which entails
her meeting with her
clients at the local park
or their homes to cap-
ture those special
shots.
Diane Proper has
taken a leap in her
photography career
and on April 29 she
invited the community
to the grand opening of
her new shop - Life's
Precious Moments
Photography Studio in
Vanastra.
Setting up shop in a
private space con-
nected to the Buckey
Joe's General Store,
Proper is opening up
for appointment -based
customers, she said
that this arrangement
is only temporary until
business starts to pick
up.
"I want to establish
myself and make sure
it can carry on as a via-
ble business," she said
inside the newly reno-
vated studio last Satur-
day morning.
The grand opening
was welcome to the
locals for food, prizes,
and a sneak- peek at
her operation.
Inside the studio is a
room with numerous
backgrounds for vari-
ous different portraits
ranging from individu-
als, couples and
children.
Last Saturday, Diane Proper had a grand opening for her new business in Vanastra - Life's Precious Moments
Photography Studio.
Vanastra roofing company burned
for $54,000 from brazen thieves

A roofing company in Vanastra
has been forced to shut down half
of their operation, due to a recent
brazen break in.
Goliath Roofing is responsible
for employing two crews of eight
workers.
Since the theft that took place
in the early hours of April 24,
where police say three thieves
broke through three sets of doors,
stealing the work truck and load-
ing a trailer with dirt bikes and
tools -five hard working roofers
are sitting at home with out a
means of pay.
The owner of Goliath Roofing,
Ian Reinsma said this is the
fourth time this has happened in
the building of where his com-
pany is established. And he
believes this crime is no
coincidence.
"I think it was the same kids
and they came back, they knew
what they wanted, when they got
into my shop," stated Reinsma,
April 26.
the culprits are far from ama-
teurs, in the video surveillance
footage captured during the heist,
it shows what appears to be two
men wearing gloves to protect
their fingerprints while the one
wore a ski mask.
"I would say they're in their
20's, they are not children, they're
adults," said Reinsma with emo-
tion in his voice.
"They know what they are
doing, they know how to hookup
a trailer"
Reinsma, 25, from Clinton esti-
mates the costs to be in the range
of $54,000, he said if he were
Iucky insurance might cover half
of his losses.
"I don't think I'll get a cheque
from insurance for a while," said
Reinsma. "I have to go out today
and spend $10,000 to buy new
tools for everybody, so they can
work tomorrow."
For the time being, Reinsma is
driving a rental vehicle and he is
installing a motion detector
alarm system, so this mishap
does not happen again in the
future.
Huron OPP Const. Jamie Stan-
ley said Forensic Identification
Services (FIS) are currently inves-
tigating the break-in.
"We have investigated other
B&E's, thefts and mischiefs at this
commercial property," stated
Stanley through email.
Stanley said to his understand-
ing there are multiple businesses
that share the same working
space as Goliath Roofing. He said
there were four reported inci-
dents at this address since
December of 2016, as well back in
2015, OPP laid charges in one of
the two cases.
This appears to the first one
reported by this business, stated
Stanley.
