Benmiller Commnity hall
will host a Grand Opening on
Friday, April 28, at 2pm, located
at 37252 Londesboro Road in
Benmiller.
Renovations to the Benmiller
Community Hall began in Janu-
ary 2016, with the bulk of work
completed in just under a year.
The total cost of the renova-
tion project was around $650,
000. The Benmiller Community
Ball Committee was able to
raise $475, 000 to fund the reno-
vations and their fundraising
efforts continue.
In regards to funding the ren-
ovation project, the larger
grants came from the Federal
government, the Ontario Tril-
lium Foundation and the
Charles H. Ivey Foundation.
There were also larger private
donations, as well as donations
made by local businesses and
corporations.
Benmiller Community Hall
received a single donation from
the Ontario Trillium Founda-
tion (OTF) of $100, 300, which
was the largest grant provided
for the renovation project.
The C.H. Ivey Foundation
provided $100, 000 while the
Federal government gave the
most through combined grants:
The Canada 150 Program pro-
vided $97, 500; The Enabling
Accessibility Fund provided

$50, 000; The New Horizons for
Seniors Program gave $25, 000.
A Grand Opening of the Ben -
miller Community Hall (BCH)
welcomes members of the com-
munity to the event starting at
2pm with speeches by special
guests.
Those in attendance can
expect speeches made by Reeve
Ben VanDiepenbeek, Ben Lobb
MP, Lisa Thompson MPP, OTF
Representative, Warden/Mayor
Jim Ginn, Glen Carey (BCH
Committee's Fund Sourcing
Committee Chair) and Clare
I Jarman (past Benmiller School
Teacher).
After the speeches of special
guests, there will also be a rib-
bon cutting ceremony on April
28, followed by an open house,
catered by the Benmiller Inn
and Spa.
