WOJLEN IN BUSINESS
The Cotton Harvest Ouilt Shop
60 Main Street South, Seaforth

Trina O'Rourke is new to this thing called 'retail'. By trade she is o dental hygienist
in public health however just over a year and a half ago she entered a contest
put on by the Municipality of Huron East called Win This Space and wouldn't you
know it... she won! The rest they say 'is history'! Trina has hit the ground running
and hasn't looked back. Still working full time in public health, Trina enjoys the
challenge of working two full-time jobs.
The Cotton Harvest Quilt shop is a place where warm country hospitality will
invite you to linger just a little bit longer among the vintage, reproduction fabrics
and heritage prints. You'll want to find that special project to use some of their
Cherrywood Hand Dyed fabrics in. Fabrics dyed and over dyed to give the look of
suede to this 100% cotton fabric.
Embroidery enthusiasts won't be disappointed. The embroidery corner is bountiful in splendid patterns from
Crabapple Hill and Buttermilk Basin to name a few popular designers. The Cosmo floss cabinet is always full and
awaits your next project. This floss is amazing to work with. It looks, feels and works like silk but is 100% cotton and
will give your embroidery projects that little extra punch they deserve!
Come take a drive to Seaforth, where a laid back atmosphere and heritage pride are ever present in the attitude of
the Cotton Harvest. The village quilt shop with all of your quilting and embroidery needs.

Sit down for a chat with Betty Small, owner of Sally's Closet
in Seaforth, and you'll soon learn that family is important.
Whether the family is related by blood, or by shared
experience in community, Betty loves them! She started
working in retail, then was a waitress in Lucknow for a
few years. Waitressing was fun for Betty, even though it's
hard work, simply because she is a people person.
Sally's Closet is a smorgasbord of various items for
sale. They offer quality used clothing which is brought
in on consignment. Betty takes consignment clothing by
appointment only, and she sets the price. She says that the
clothing offered is the ultimate recycling, because it is sold to
someone who loves it and the consignor gets paid for it, too!
After three months, the clothing gets donated to charity.
In addition to clothing, there is plenty of furniture, wall art,
books, toys and household items for sale. It's fun to just pop

in while waiting for a prescription
or an appointment downtown, and
just browse the store, looking for
something special.
Another thing Sally's Closet is known for is their
Country Chic paint. This is a Canadian made, chalk
based paint, perfect for furniture or projects around
the home. Betty became a distributor for Country Chic
after she won a painting class at a silent auction. She
took her daughter to the class, and they both loved it!
Betty decided she wanted to carry a Canadian made product,
so she did her research and discovered Country Chic had
been launched just a few months prior. Betty has become one
of the top sellers in the company! She offers workshops in her
store, or in various locations in the area.

Seaforth Jewellers Ltd. has been a constant on Seaforth's
main street for well over 40 years. and Nancy Anstett has
been there for 29 of these years.
The store offers a large selection of giftware from crystal to frames to purses to
clocks, just to mention a few. All gifts are gift wrapped free of charge, but the
heart of the business is jewellery.
Nancy is always on the lookout for new styles and trends to stock her store.
A wide variety of sterling silver and gold items fill the showcases. Diamonds
and stones of all kinds are found, each set in their own unique setting. While
it's hard to compete with the larger centers and larger stores, Nancy prides
herself and her staff on giving great customer service and personal attention
to each and every sale. The store is open weekdays 9am - 6pm and 9am -
5pm on Saturday to best accommodate customers with extended hours during
holidays.
Reliable repair service, engraving and a sideline trophy business is also
available. Nancy feels it is viable to have multiple services to look after
everyone's needs in a small community. Like any career, being a business owner
has it's ups and downs, but Nancy truly enjoys running Seaforth Jewellers Ltd.
and looks forward to continuing to serve Seaforth and the surrounding area for
many years to come.
