Stars win local championship
The Seaforth Stars Pee Wee team won the Young Canada Week tournament in Goderich, which
took place from Mar 17-19. They were awarded with the "True Autopro Trophy."

Although both are equiva-
lent in servicing and risking
their lives for the commu-
nity, for the moment a win
for bragging rights between
the red and blue could sepa-
rate those parallels.
In an ice hockey game, the
Huron East Fire Department
went head-to-head against
the Huron County OPP last
Saturday at the Seaforth
Arena.
It's the first time the two
teams have played one
another, however the OPP
have played other fire sta-
tions from Huron County in
the past --the get-together is
usually called the Guns and
Hoses.
A couple weeks before the
game a press release to
advertise the event was
given to the public; in the
document they poked fun at
each other.
The OPP stated if the
Huron East Fire didn't use
some of their local NHL tal-
ent that they might as well
"go back to shining up their
fancy trucks."
While Huron East
responded in a joking man-
ner, "it has been mentioned
that OPP stands for "Occa-
sionally Pass the Puck."
With a snicker, Deborah
Logue, executive director for
Victim Services of Huron
County said the teams
played with a level of
animosity.
