BREAK, ENTER &
THEFT - SALTFORD
(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-
WAWANOSH, ON) - Huron
County Ontario Provincial
Police (OPP) officers, including
members from the Huron OPP
Property Crimes Unit continue
to investigate a daytime break,
enter and theft occurrence that
took place in Saltford last week.
Sometime between 8:30
a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Friday,
February 24th, 2017 a Saltford
Road resident returned home to
find someone had forced entry
into his residence through a
rear door. Once inside the home
the thief searched the residence
and stole a variety of items.
Some of the reported
stolen items include:
*Jewellery consisting
of two gold necklaces
and three gold rings
•A 60" LG flat screen television
•An Apple MacBook Pro
laptop computer
•A black & grey Harley
Davidson leather jacket
along with Harley Davidson
boots and a leather vest
•A black Dewalt plastic case
containing a 20 volt Dewalt
brand skill saw, sawzall, drill,
batteries and flashlight.

SHOPLIFTER
RESISTS ARREST
(CENTRAL HURON, ON) - A
31 -year-old from Central
Huron is facing five criminal
charges following a shoplifting
incident that took place
yesterday afternoon just
outside of Goderich.
Around 6:45 p.m. Huron County
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)
officers were dispatched to the
Canadian Tire store located
on Huron Road to investigate
a shoplifting incident. Within
a couple minutes officers
arrived on scene and with
the assistance of store staff
police located the suspect
at a nearby store. Officers
detained the suspect and found
the male to be in possession
of a stolen flashlight.
Upon being informed of his
arrest the male suspect
began to resist arrest and
tried to break free from the
officers. Officers were able to
gain control of the male and
upon searching the male they
located a quantity of suspected
methamphetamine. Further
investigation revealed
the male was failing to
comply with conditions
of his probation order.
As a result, a 31 -year-old
from Central Huron has been
charged with Theft Under
$5,000 (Shoplifting), Resist
Peace Officer, Possession
of a Schedule I Substance
(Methamphetamine) and two
counts of Fail to Comply with
Probation Order. He has since
been released from custody
with a court appearance
scheduled for March 20,
2017 at the Ontario Court
of Justice - Goderich.
TRAFFIC STOP
LEADS TO
NUMEROUS
CHARGES
FOR
FEMALE DRIVER
(CENTRAL HURON, ON) - A
43 -year-old unlicensed
driver will be making a trip to
Provincial Offences Court this
spring following a traffic stop
that took place late last night.
Just after 11:30 p.m. a Huron
County Ontario Provincial
Police (OPP) officer observed
a Dodge Dakota pickup
truck travelling northbound
on Orchard Line without a
functioning licence plate light. A
traffic stop was conducted
and a number of traffic related
offences were uncovered.
The traffic investigation
revealed the driver was never
licenced, the attached licence
plates were unauthorized and
the pickup was uninsured.
A 43 -year-old from Huron -
Kinloss has been charged with:
•Drive Motor Vehicle
- No Licence
•Use Plate Not Authorized
for Vehicle
•Operate a Motor Vehicle
Without Insurance
She now has an upcoming
court date at the Provincial
Offences Court in Goderich
to answer to her charges.
