Clinton Skating Club Carnival

Every two years, the Clin-
ton Skating Club puts on a
carnival to display their tal-
ent and raise funds for the
organization.
"It gives the kids a chance
to show off the skills that
they've learned through the
years in the programs that
we offer," said Club President
Amanda Rutledge.
The club's participants
range from ages 3 to 18,
and currently they have
around 80 skaters not
including those from their
power skating program
which is geared to hockey
and ringette players and
focuses on balance, power,
agility, speed and endur-
ance. Other programs they
offer are for learning to
skate and figure skating.
Their skaters come from
Blyth, Seaforth, Clinton and
some from Goderich.

On Saturday, February 25,
many skaters from the club
were able to perform in indi-
vidual or group perfor-
mances to parents, grand-
parents and anyone from the
public. Money raised at the
event goes to keeping regis-
tration costs down.
The club's season runs
from November until March,
and they have various
competitions through the
season.
The club practices at the
Central Huron Community
Centre every Wednesday
and Saturday.
