STOLEN
(CENTRAL HURON, ON)
- Huron County OPP officers
including members of the
Huron OPP Property Crimes
Unit are seeking tips from the
public with respect to a break,
enter and theft investigation
that recently took place
southwest of Clinton.
On Sunday, February 19 at
approximately 9:45 a.m., a
suspicious male attended a
repair shop/residence located
near Bayfield Road looking
'for a place to get air for his
tires. The male was advised
the shop was closed and was
directed elsewhere. ,
The resident left home a few
minutes later and returned
around 11:35 a.m. to find
someone had forced entry
into the residence through a
rear patio door. Once inside
the residence the thief stole
an X -Box game console,
(2) laptops, jewellery, and
frozen food. The culprit then
gained access into the repair
shop and stole some cash
and two computers. One
of the stolen computers is
used for emissions testing of
vehicles. It is valued at over
$4,000.
The suspicious male that
attended the property seeking
air prior to the break and
enter was described as
being of medium height, with
shorter dark hair and in his
30's to early 40's. He was
wearing a bomber style jacket
and jeans. He was driving
a grey, older model Pontiac
Sunfire or similar style of
vehicle.

BREAK, ENTER &
THEFT - EXETER
(SOUTH HURON, ON)
- Huron County OPP officers
including members of the
Huron OPP Property Crimes
Unit continue to investigate a
daytime break, enter and theft
that took place in Exeter.
Sometime between 10:45
a.m. and 11:10 a.m. on
February 15, a thief attended
a residence located on
Victoria Street West and
entered into the home through
an unlocked door. Once inside
the residence the thief located
and stole several items.
The stolen items included
a Sony PlayStation game
console, a rose coloured
Bulova men's wrist watch,
a charcoal grey coloured
wrist watch and some loose
change.
The total value of the stolen
property is estimated at
approximately $1,000.
A suspect vehicle was spotted
near the residence around
the time of the theft. It was
described as a tan or beige
coloured late 1990's or early
2000's Cadillac or Lincoln.

RIFLE &
GEAR STOLEN
(CENTRAL HURON, ON)
- Huron County OPP officers,
including members of
the Huron OPP Property
Crimes Unit are currently
investigating a theft of a
hunting rifle that recently took
place.
�At 1:34 p.m. on
Sunday, February 19,
Huron OPP officers responded
to Maitland Line west of
Clinton to meet with two
victims. Investigators learned
the victims were hunting in
a nearby field around 1:15
p.m. when they initially heard
a loud noise followed by the
sound of their vehicle alarm
sounding. They quickly made
their way back to their pickup
truck where they found
someone had smashed a rear
window and gained access
into the locked truck.
Upon checking over the
vehicle the following property
was reported as stolen:
A Savage Model 10 Predator
.243 Calibre bolt action
rifle. The rifle was secured
with a combination trigger
lock and it was stored in a
soft gun case.
A camo style Browning
backpack
Two (2) Cabela's brand
Northern shotgun cases
A Coleman shotgun case
A Rocky brand camo sweater
A Carlson's shotgun choke
HUNTING
Duck calls, Rabbit Decoys
Various types of ammunition.
The victims reported seeing a
light blue larger model sports
utility vehicle fleeing the
scene.

FOLLOWS
TRACKS IN SNOW
TO MAKE ARREST
(CENTRAL HURON, ON) - Once
again fresh footprints in
the snow proved to be the
undoing for a Huron County
resident following a police
investigation that took place
last weekend. On Friday,
February 17, 2017 at 7:18
a.m. Huron County Ontario
Provincial Police (OPP)
officers were called to Mary
Street in Clinton to check on
an Arctic Cat snow machine
that appeared to have been
abandoned at the end of a
residential driveway.
The investigating officer
arrived on scene and located
the damaged snow machine
with the ignition key still in
the machine. Leading away
• from the snow machine
were a set of footprints in
the snow. They were tracked
to a nearby residence which
ultimately led officer's to the
driver of the machine.
Upon further investigation
officers confirmed the
machine had been stolen the
preceding day from a shed
located on Front Road in
Huron East. Investigators also
noted the male suspect had
been consuming alcohol and
was out past his curfew in
contravention of his probation
order.
As a result, the 26 year-old
male from Goderich was
arrested and taken into
custody. He has been charged
with:
Break, Enter a Place and
Commit Theft
Driving While Disqualified
Fail to Comply with Probation
Order Five (5) Counts
He remains in custody with
a video court appearance
scheduled for February 28,
2017 at the Ontario Court of
Justice - Goderich.
